Gold Coast Fishing Platforms

Gold Coast fishing rivals most other fishing destinations within Australia. The range and choice of fishing platforms provided by the Gold Coast City Council is indeed astounding. From river and estuary locations to those having direct seaway access, the fishing platforms available at Gold Coast Australia will have you spoilt for choice.

Here are a few of the favourite spots that will ensure you don't go home empty handed:

Labrador at the northern end of the Gold Coast seaway has a number of fishing platforms located along its waterfront. They all provide seating and shade sails so that you can comfortably fish for the bream, flathead, whiting and luderick, which are commonly caught here.

Further south along the Broadwater you'll discover Gold Coast fishing at its finest. The Barney Street platform at Southport is a favourite spot of locals and trevally, bream, whiting and even mud crabs are a common sight.

A stone's throw from the Surfers Paradise action is Chevron Island and one of the Gold Coast's handiest little fishing platforms. Equipped with seating and shade sails, it's an easy stroll from most Surfers Paradise accommodation.

The Currumbin Creek fishing platform, not far from the beach, is a great spot for the occasional sand crab as well as whiting and flathead.

The concrete jetty at Coombabah Creek, located near a protected fish habitat, rarely leaves anglers disappointed, with species such as mangrove jack and trevally up for grabs and the Nerang River platform is another great spot for mud crab as well as bream.
